Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) have created a video that lays out a Strategic Economic Plan to create 70,000 jobs and 6,000 new businesses in the region over the next ten years.

Government Ministers are now looking at the the Strategic Economic Plan with the intention of it being the foundation of a ‘Growth Deal’ with Government. Agreement is hoped for in mid-June.

In a press release, James Newman, the Chairman of the Sheffield City Region LEP says that:

“We’ve created this unique video to raise awareness of the LEP’s ambitions to grow the Sheffield City Region’s economy.

“The video has been designed to communicate the key messages about our Growth Plan, which is based on creating more private sector jobs by ensuring our businesses are encouraged and incentivised to grow.

“We believe that by Government devolving more funding and powers to local business and political leaders, better decisions, better value for money and more effective delivery will be achieved than by relying on national schemes created by and managed from Whitehall.”
