The whole point of exhibiting at an event is to find new customers. Right?
Sort of. Yes. And no. We all know how difficult it is to find new customers, and Sheffex will be a great opportunity to meet plenty of new prospects from all walks of life, and sectors of business.
Let’s not ignore our existing customers though. They are probably the last thing on our minds in all the excitement of planning an exhibition stand, but it’s a great opportunity to reconnect with people we are currently doing business with and perhaps those who we might have lost touch with.
Exhibiting at a big business event automatically shouts out that you’re the kind of firm that’s worth talking to.
It’s opportunity to invite people for a day out, part of which will be catching up with you and maybe exploring future needs and opportunities.
Take a look at the list of companies that are attending and see if there’s anybody on there that you already know and take the opportunity to drop them a line to make sure that they come and see you. Once these are out of the way you can send a quick email to your other contacts to tell about the day, why you are going to be there and maybe invite them over to share a coffee with you on your stand stop.
If you are struggling for time, or can’t seem to find the words, or if your contact list is just too darned big, we might even be able to help you – don’t be afraid to ask!
Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn are also good ways to tell people about your upcoming exhibition stand, and you can even upload banners or blog posts to your own website to go into more detail.
Spread the word and get the most bang for your buck. There’s plenty of ways that you’ll come up with too, but however you do it – don’t keep it a secret!
