Business travellers and freight companies need to be aware that the A57 Snake Pass between Sheffield and Manchester will be closed for a week by Derbyshire County Council.

A 12 mile section of the A57 road will be shut between Monday 23 October and Friday 27 October 2017 to allow for resurfacing and maintenance to the highway and verges.

Snake will be closed from Hurst Road in Glossop, to the Ladybower viaduct junction of the A6013 with the A57, in Bamford.

A diversion will be in signposted via the A6013, the A6187, the B6049, the A623, the A6, the A6015, the A624 and the A57, although many drivers may prefer to use the M1 / M62 route to the north.
