Exhibitors at a unique business exhibition held in Sheffield will be the first attendees to make use of a digital app designed especially for the event.
SheffEx has joined forces with Paul Scriven, founder of Sheffield-based company Apps2Connect, to create a fully-interactive smartphone app ahead of the event on December 1 at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre.
Sheffield’s first one-day business exhibition debuted in June and the sell-out event brought together more than 1,500 people from organisations across the Sheffield City Region and the wider Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire areas.
Paul Scriven, who runs the Apps business from Hunters Bar, said: “We see smartphone technology at the heart of connecting people and driving business and sales, and we’re proud to have developed this app for Sheffield’s premier business event.
“The app will be a tool to connect people, and will allow them to network through it. Everything delegates and exhibitors need will be located in one place and it is accessible on the move, which is the beauty of a smartphone app.”
The app will features including latest news, a directory of exhibitors, links to Facebook and Twitter, and push notifications for any breaking news and announcements on the day and in the build-up to the event.
Tony Carroll, one of the event’s organisers, said: “The feedback from the first ever SheffEx was overwhelming, but we wanted to make SheffEx 2 bigger and better. The creation of the SheffEx app will certainly improve the experience of all exhibitors and attendees.
“The idea behind the app is to allow for better engagement with all our exhibitors and delegates. Having a dedicated app means that people can access it on the move on their smartphones, reducing the need to be confined to a desktop.”
There will also be special discounts for businesses and individuals who download the app.
Any business which downloads the SheffEx app and books a free no obligation demo meeting before the event will receive £100 off the normal £699 cost of a smartphone app of their own.
Added Paul: “We thrive on helping small businesses grow and reach more people by developing bespoke apps which are tailored towards their needs.”
The SheffEx app is available to download for free on Android, Google Play and the Apple store.
